welll crap...my server is almost out of drive space.
choices
1) buy a case big enough to put all the drives into - i have 4 more 120 gig drives and a hardware raid card for them for a total of 8 drives in the server...case takes $
2) buy bigger drives...$
3) build a NAS...i have everything i need except for a motherboard and memory...$
4) bolt 2 cases together...
i do however wonder how to cluster Ubuntu servers together
Wills MRI results are in. Torn cartilage and torn the back side of his..umm..lets see if i can spell this right...minuscus?
Not bad enough to need surgery to fix but he will be off lifting and stuff for some time.
Went and saw Clash Of the Titans and had diner with Will for a night out of the house.
(^_^)
Heading out to Dad's to help with dry wall...should have left like 2 hours ago...meep..sleepy dragon and Wolf sleeped too long.
Well...in an effort to bring in some more money, William took on 2 back to back 18 hour shifts because they offered extra money to do so. His knee has been bothering him and upon returning from the first 18 hours...he blew out his knee.
(-_-)
no insurance yet
he might get let go
we might not get this covered under workman's Comp.
We went to the ER and got pills and an X-ray.
He will follow up with a specialist to get an MRI but it's theorized that he has torn the cartilage loose.
Not difficult to repair and all but...we don't have money on hand, we will be out of work for a while and if workman's Comp won't cover...that 10's of thousands in hospital bills.
We will get through it and all but...Shit!
Also...Bill has broken bones...got hit by a car when he was riding his bicycle
so anyway...Pressure at work to get this big install done and working is/was taking it's toll on my.
Not having been on the job or in this industry long and to have a $50K must not fail job to do says alot for their confidence in me but it was scary. The equipment is in and we put it through a big test at the shop. No doubt there will be a few bugs to work out now thats in place but I got some sleep so i am not worried.
Money is getting better as long as we don't have any wrenches tossed at us.
Other than that not much is really going on and we are settling into our routines.
It's easter so...Mmm..pie...*purrr* Key Lime.
The cake i baked and decorated turned out kinda good for Will's birthday.
Other than thats it's been work, come home, eat leftovers, worry about money.
More financial issues seem to follow us around....*sigh*
School done!
Back to work for me
Dallas was boring but i did get the chance to meet an on line friend of mine that i have never seen face to face before. We went out to eat and chat; it was nice (^_^)
Money continues to be a problem; I know it will take a while to get back on our feet but it gets to me.
Will's Birthday is coming up and i don't think i can afford to get him what i wanted to (-_-);
Some times it's nice when you are away from home, in a new place to go out and spend some money on a good meal. I did that, with my lab partner (we get along well), spend the most i think i have ever spend for one meal but mmmm it was gooooood.
So far so good.
My flights were nothing out of the ordinary.
Definatly a different type of class and machine.
i haz a paycheck!
Normally you don't send a new technician out on his own for three weeks, but..after only one I am going out alone to run service calls. Not only that, but i made a good enough impression that they are sending me to a two week vendor school on a rather large piece of equipment en lieu of another technician they were going to send!
Performance pressure any one?
Hah! lucky i like challenges and learning new stuff.
Work is going well. (^_^) I even got kudos today!
Sure right not i will not bring in as much as i used to, but there is so much room to grow here.
William is doing well with his job too, but i don't see him as much (-_-)
Money will still be really tight for awhile but we are going to make it!
BooYah!
I start Monday!
(^____^)
The pay is good, has some nice perks (company car for service calls, dry cleaning..etc), benefits..And a future for upward mobility!
so...Got Will a car. 1999 Olds Intrige...high milage, only a few minor things wrong with it that we can tell.
Money is a big concern...we have none and his first paycheck is going to the car's first payement.
Meanwhile...here i set nervous and anxious waiting to hear back from a place i have interviewed thrice at. It's a good fit and i really want to work there. I think my chances are REALLY good that i'll get it but...
Will is enjoying his job for the most part, but they overwork him...
Remicade time!
Nothing special other than i bleed all over the place for the I.V. Tech.
Computer issue...Pulseaudio integration in Ubuntu 9.10 sucks. Got it working for the game i play (Second Live) but then my DVD drive seemed to die. Purchased and installed a new one...Nope..same problem..D'oH! I think i have a work-a-round.
Wills job...We need a car...NOW..Money is tight but i think i can swing the down payment and insurance startup until Will's paychecks start to kick in.
Ditch...Looks like i am digging and replacing the culvert pipe by hand, as we can't really afford to rent a Back-Ho and I don't know how to use it anyway (-_-)
Job Interview Friday...Woot...it's sounds hopeful and it's something i have experience with and actually Want to do.
BF's job looks like a good fit for him and he is happy with it so far.
We need another car though...meep..well..we can get a cheap one at a weekly pay-for place he knows.
That will work for now
