big scary word...
FancyLu's cancer in her leg came back.
Rather than a small lump, i found a golf ball on her leg which quickly got to the size of a baseball in a few days.
They drained it, gave her antibiotics and now we wait.
Her age precludes removing it as it would remove too much muscle for her age and radiation it too expensive and also not good for her age
Also i have to go to Atlanta Sunday for e-automate training; right in the middle of rate change madness.

So i got the chance to play my new Zelda - skyward sword for the first time this weekend...ermm...most of the weekend.
Its a pretty good game and has a lot of the things that make a good Zelda game, well..Good!
There are a few things about the interface I do not like. There is no map overlay widgit or any indication as to which direction you are facing which makes it hard to get to where you need to go. Your in world position changes when you enter your inventory or map so it's very easy to walk around in circles.
I have always gotten the players guides when playing a Zelda game because of all the things you have to keep track of with inventory and side quests, also world maps are needed because you cant make your own like we did 'back in the day'...The players guide sucks! The maps are very flat and show no depth of field and the directions are incorrect. It uses terms like left and right...useless in a 3D world...and saying things like walk around X when it really meant swim...
All in all the game is good otherwise.

Well..holiday shopping is all done....meaning we ran out of credit cards!
Will's unemployment came through so that's going to help.
We are at Phaedrus's house doing geek things with his new wireless and Windoze 7 laptop which i am typing this on atm.

One of the site admins and original founding members to kyfurs.com is leaving us. A sending away party in Lexington ensued. Although we really can't afford it, we felt like doing something away from here for my vacation and our anniversary so off we went. We all had a good time. (^_^)

It's too expensive for that!
We have been in serious need of a better and bigger bed for awhile now.
I have been doing research and all that...Good mattresses are just stupid expensive but we are tired of tossing and turning and waking up sore and misserable.
We bought a King sized Southerland brand for $1000
We pick it up on Wednesday and i plan to sleep that night for a good 12 hours...comfortably!

So there was a nasty bug in the lightbox plug in that makes the pictures work...I was kinda on the right track in what was goin wrong but i am so out of date with web page programming. PHP, CCS and javascript have come a long way since the days of me knowing anything about HTML. A friend of mine, Taintedsancity helped me greatly in coming up with a fix.

There is still work to do, like clean up some of the things i did while trying to come up with a solution and i still have to modify the CCS into the modified one i use. So for now the other blogs will not work and the main one will have a few things that i don't like until i get around to it.

my blog software was out of date and in need of updating.
The code is all updated but things will not be back to normal for some time as i integrate the customizations i made to it into the new code.

the fun/frustrating part about Linux is getting everything working correctly.
And things change with new distro versions.
Got the second video card working.
Got skype working with my webcam using a modified version of the code i needed to get it running before
had to ditch Pulse audio because it still sucks ass in Ubuntu and installed ALSA
got voice chat working, mostly, in secondlife.
i noticed that my system did not install the PAE version of the kernal so it's not seeing all my RAM so i need to switch to that kernal...wonder what all i got fixed will now break when i do that

well..sure 10.10fixed the Python issue but my second video card refused to show up. Lots of re-installing, re-formating and re-installing, cursing, scouring the internet for answers i found the solution.
It was hard because finding information on a linux issue is a pain. It seems everyones install is different and everyones opinions are unflappable. My machine did not give me the error in the kern.log that would have pointed right to the issue. Apparently the 32bit ubuntu's have a glitch where by it doesn't allocate enough memory at boot up to initialize the second card. Adding a kernel parameter to the boot up command fixes it (vmalloc-256M). What is odd about it is that version 9.X works out of the box, my install was an upgrade from 9 and i never saw this issue. Even when i installed 9 and upgraded this time, i still got the issue....
Either way its fixed...mostly...i am having to edit my grub menu.lst to add the pram because the directions for adding this pram permanently doesn't match the file structure in my system. It is likely the reason for that is my version of grub is old...but it works so whatever.

One, Will lost his job and they are fighting his claim for un-employment...that's bull shit.
two, some time ago i installed Blender (a 3-d object creation software) to do things to my avatar in secondlife. The scripts i wanted to plug into the program are not compatible with Python 3 (current version for Ubuntu 10.04) so i stitched in Phython 2.6. Things in Ubuntu have become progressively unstable and google is not helping me figure out how to un-do the damage. I am currently upgrading to 10.10 in the hopes the re-compiles will fix the problem. Time will tell.

We went to some haunted houses, never been to the ones we went to *giggles* they were funny.
Then we went out on the town for some much needed fun with some friends of Will's from his X job place.

Well..at least he can get caught up on school work that his job has been getting in the way of.
We will make it, but he is pretty pissed and bummed about it.
